Title: Need to formulate a policy to generate employment avenues in Jammu & Kashmir -Laid.
(BARAMULLA) : I would like to draw the attention of the Government towards the plight of unemployed youth of Jammu & Kashmir. For the last twelve years Jammu & Kashmir is under the shadow of militancy and unfortunate atmosphere created by the constant violence patronized by the enemies of peace, has psychologically depressed a full generation of qualified boys, girls and technocrats. They are looking with hope towards the Central Government for providing opportunities of gainful employment.
I reiterate the necessity of floating an overseas employment corporation, as it was suggested by Hon’ble Prime Minister on his first visit to Srinagar as Foreign Minister more than two decades ago.
I would also like to urge upon the Government to address the problem on priority and open up the avenues of employment for our young generation, in Central Government offices and Government undertaking as a special package or fix a permanent quota – for the time being for the unemployed youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
