(x) Need to provide special grant to Government of Uttar Pradesh for providing better civil amenitiesi n Moradabad:
(MORADABAD): Moradabad is among the highest foreign exchange earning towns in the country, visited everyday by hundreds of prospective businessmen. The filth and dirt and lack of drainage are enough to put off the prospective businessmen and make life for its citizens a living hell. Drainage is non-existent or choked. The town sits on a tinderbox filth that may, at any time, spark off an epidemic like the one that happened in Surat. It is imperative that the Central Government considers a special fund for cleaning Moradabad.
The U.P. Government has been approached by me. Promises have been made over the years but nothing has come out in this regard. The citizens are very anguished.
I request the Central Government to provide special aid to the U.P. Government for better civic amenities in Moradabad, both to attract foreign capital and investment as well as for the health of its citizens who earn valuable foreign exchange which is the largest in quantum in Uttar Pradesh.
