Background
1. The RTI application was filed on 3.7.08. The Appellant requested for
information against 6 points with regard to issue of passport to his
daughter. The PIO replied on 16.7.08 denying the information under
Section 8(1)(J) of the RTI Act and advised the Appellant to ask his
daughter to apply in her name.. The Appellant filed an appeal before
the CIC on 1.9.08.
2. The case was scheduled for hearing on December 19, 2008. However,
at the request of the Respondents, the Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit,
Information Commissioner, heard the case on December 17, 2008.
3. Mr.B.R.Arya, Passport Officer and Mr.M.K.Roy represented the Public
Authority.
4. The Appellant Mr.Nurul Abedin was not present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Respondents submitted that the passport was dispatched on
17.12.08.
6. Since the grievance of the Appellant has been addressed and no
further information needs to be provided, the appeal is disposed off.
