The appellant had sought information from NIT-Kurukshetra regarding promotions of
Technician Grade (A) & (B).
Sl. Information Sought PIOs’ Reply
1. For the promotion of Technician The information asked with regard to
Grade (A) the illegibility criteria is the minutes of BOG meeting in which
10th Pass with 5 years of similar it was passed that for the promotion to
professional experience. In view of the the post of Technician Grade A & B,
above it is requested to kindly provide the Pump Driver, Carpenter, Meson,
copy of the board meeting in which Plumber, Fitter and System Attendant
the order was passed to give are eligible, no such information is
promotions to Pam Driver, Carpenter, available in the institute.

2. Certified copy of the board-agent The information asked with regard to
meetings in which orders for the minutes of BOG Meeting in which
promotion of Grade (B) was passed ? it was passed that for the promotion to
the post of Technician Grade B, the
Assistant Pump Driver are eligible, no
such information is available in the
Institute.
Since the appellant is not satisfied with the PIO’s reply, he filed first appeal before the
First Appellate Authority.
The First Appellate Authority ordered:
The First Appellate Authority ordered that “Mr. Phool Kumar submitted that he has not
received the minutes of the Bog in which it was passed that for the promotion Tech. ‘A’ &
‘B’, the Pump Driver, Carpernter, Mason, Plumber, Fitter, System attendant and Assistant
Pump Driver are eligible. The representative of CPIO submitted that those minutes are not
available in the Institute.”

The appellant would like to inspect files and will be going for an inspection from
tomorrow. The PIO will facilitate the inspection and also give photocopies of any of
the papers he wants free of cost.
Decision:
The appeal is allowed.
The PIO will facilitate the inspection and give the photocopies required by the
appellant.
