                                                   ORDER

Background

1. The Applicant filed an RTI Application dt.4.3.11 with the PIO, DRM Office, West Central Railway, 

Kota seeking n copies of the service book of Shri Nasru and Shri Farooq.  Shri Rajeev Gandhi, PIO in 

his letter dt.4.4.11 denied the same as the same pertains to a third party and the AA vide his letter 

dt.7.6.11 dismissed the first appeal dt.7.6.11 as time barred.     Being aggrieved with the reply, the 

Applicant filed a second appeal dt.4.7.11 before CIC.

Decision

2. During the hearing, the Respondents submitted that vide letter dt.19.10.11, they had provided the 

service book of Shri Farooq whereas as per records no person named Shri Nasroo is working in their 

office.  He, however, added that one Shri Nasiruddin, S/o Shri Gutiya is working in the office.  The 

Appellant stated that this is the same person whom they used to call Nasroo. It was noted that the 

father’s name was same in both cases   Accordingly, the service books of both the persons, after 

using Section 10(1) of the RTI Act to sever information exempted from disclosure under Section 8(1) 

of the RTI Act,  were handed over to the Appellant during the hearing and the Appellant was satisfied

3. In view of the above, the case is closed at the Commission’s end.
