                            JUDGMENT

The petitioner is presently working as Chief Medical

Officer in the District Government Ayurveda Hospital,

Thripunithura. She is due to retire from service on

30.09.2009. The main relief sought for in the writ petition is

for a direction to the respondents to promote the petitioner

as District Medical Officer(ISM) in any of the existing

vacancies. Ext.P4 is the representation filed by the

petitioner before the 1st respondent in the matter. The

petitioner points out therein that in accordance with the

seniority she is entitled for promotion. The petitioner

assumed charge as Chief Medical Officer on 29.02.2008 and

at present there are three vacancies of District Medical

Officers (ISM) in Idukki, Kottayam and Kasargod Districts.

2. It is up to the first respondent to consider the matter in

accordance with the Rules and in the light of the seniority position

of the concerned officers including the petitioner. Appropriate

orders shall be passed on Ext.P4 within a period of two months

from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
