                             J U D G M E N T

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking for grant

of the following reliefs:

“(i) issue a writ of mandamus directing the

respondents to conduct the 3rd semester

B.Sc.Biotechnology and Botany (Double

Main) examinations for 2008 batch at the

earliest and publish the results of the

same as expeditiously as possible.

(ii) issue a writ of mandamus directing the

respondents to publish the 1st semester

and 2nd semester result as expeditiously as

possible.”

2. The petitioner joined the St.Berchman’s College,

Changanassery for doing B.Sc. Biotechnology and Botany(Double

main) course of M.G. University in the year 2008. The duration

of the said course is three years and within that period, the

petitioner has to complete total six semesters and the petitioner

is now doing the 4th semester of the said course. It is pointed out

that the examinations are being delayed which results in loss of

valuable academic years of the students like the petitioner. It is

in these circumstances that the petitioner has approached this

Court by filing this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned Standing Counsel for the University.

It is submitted that the 3rd Semester B.Sc.Biotechnology and

Botany(Double Main) examination for the 2008 batch will he held

before the end of April, 2010. The same is recorded. With

regard to the publication of the result of 1st and 2nd semesters

also, it is submitted that the same will be done expeditiously.

The same is also recorded. Appropriate actions, will be taken in

the matter by the respondents.

The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
