The sole relief pressed for by learned counsel for the petitioner
at the time of hearing of this petition is that correction in the name
of the petitioner, his father’s name and his mother’s name may be
made by the Board of High School & Intermediate Education,
Allahabad (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Board’) in the High
School Examination-2008 mark-sheet and certificate.
It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that though
the correct names have been mentioned in the admit card issued by
the Board for appearing in the said examination, yet the mark-
sheet and the certificate do not contain the correct names.
The records of the writ petition shows that the Principal of the
Institution has sent a communication dated 26th April, 2009 along
with an affidavit to the Secretary of the Board. It is, however,
asserted that till date no decision has been taken by the Board.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents states
that a decision on the said application filed by the Principal of the
Institution shall be taken expeditiously.
In view of the aforesaid, this petition is disposed of with a
direction to the Board to make the necessary corrections in the
High School Examination-2008 mark-sheet and certificate issued
to the petitioner, expeditiously, preferably within a period of six
weeks’ from the date a certified copy of this order is filed by the
petitioner before the Secretary of the Board.
It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated upon the
merits of the case, which shall be considered by the Board in
accordance with law.
