Jai Ram Singh Yadav vs State Of U.P. And Others on 10 August, 2010
Court No. - 39

Case :- WRIT - A No. - 47361 of 2010

Petitioner :- Jai Ram Singh Yadav
Respondent :- State Of U.P. And Others
Petitioner Counsel :- Shyam Sunder Maurya
Respondent Counsel :- C. S. C.

Hon'ble Dilip Gupta,J.

The petitioner who had appeared for selection in the U.P. Police
has sought the quashing of the order dated 2nd July, 2010 by
which the representation filed by him has been rejected.

The petitioner belongs to Male OBC category. He has obtained
108.4502 marks as against 111.9517 marks obtained by the last
admitted candidate in the Male OBC category.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the last
admitted candidate in this category has obtained 108.1139 marks
and, therefore, the petitioner should have been selected. This
contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner cannot be
accepted in view of the information supplied by the learned
Standing Counsel on the basis of the communication dated 19th
May, 2010 that the last admitted candidate in OBC Male category
obtained 111.9517 marks.

The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
