Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.
By this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for a mandamus
directing respondent no. 3 the District Election Officer, Jaunpur to
correct the voters list after due verification of the addresses of the
residents of Village Birampur and Village Dihiya, Pargana –
Anguli, Tehsil – Shahganj, District – Jaunpur.
We are of the view that a writ petition cannot be entertained for
correction of voters list. It is open for the petitioner to file an
objection as and when the process for correction/modification of
the voters list begins in accordance with the relevant statutory
provisions.
With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is dismissed.
