Petitioners-Lalita Devi and Hardial Singh are present in the
Court. Lalita Devi has stated that she has passed M.C.A. She has
further stated that she was born on 26.3.1985. It is further stated by the
petitioners that they have solemnized marriage according to their own
volition against the wishes of their parents. The petitioners seek
protection to their life and pray that they may not be harmed by those
who have not accepted their marriage.
Issue notice of motion.
On asking of the Court, Mr.J.S. Bhullar, Assistant Advocate
General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3. A
copy of the petition has been supplied to him.
Respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, is
directed to assess threat perception to the petitioners and if required,

ensure necessary vigil that no harm is caused to the life of the
petitioners.
With the observations made above, the present petition is
disposed of.
A copy of this order, duly attested by the Special Secretary of
this Court, be furnished to Mr.J.S. Bhullar, Assistant Advocate General,
Punjab, for onward transmission and compliance.
