JUDGMENT
The petitioner in W.P.(C).32867/2009 appeared for the
fourth semester B.Tech degree examination in Electronics
and Communication Engineering conducted by the University
of Calicut. The results were published in the last week of
August 2009. The petitioner failed in the paper, “Engineering
Mathematics”. He has therefore applied for revaluation of
his answer script by submitting Ext.P1 application dated
7.9.2009. It is stated that the requisite fee has also been
paid.
2. The petitioner in W.P.(C).32892/2009 appeared for the
fifth semester B.Tech degree examination in Information
Technology conducted by the University of Calicut in
December 2009. The results of the said examination were
published in the first week of October 2009. The petitioner
failed in the paper “Graph Theory and Combinatorics”. He
has therefore applied for revaluation of his answer script by
submitting Ext.P1 application dated 12.10.2009.
3. The petitioners submit that they have completed their
course of study and that they had done well in the

examination. It is also stated that if their answer scripts are
revalued, they are hopeful of securing a pass. In these writ
petitions, the petitioners seek expeditious revaluation of their
answer scripts.
Sri.P.C.Sasidharan, the learned standing counsel
appearing for the University of Calicut submits that if the
applications for revaluation submitted by the petitioners are
in order and the requisite fee has been paid, the University
will take expeditious steps to revalue their answer scripts and
to communicate result to them. In the light of the said
submission, I dispose of these writ petitions with a direction
to the respondents to take steps to have the petitioners’
answer scripts revalued and to communicate the result to
them within eight weeks from the date on which the
petitioners’ produce a certified copy of this judgment before
the Controller of Examinations, University of Calicut.
