ORAL
ORDER

(Per
: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE MR. S.J. MUKHOPADHAYA)

Pursuant
to the Court’s order, Mr. P.K. Taneja, Principal Secretary, Social,
Justice and Empowerment Department and Mr. D.B. Shah, Secretary,
Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board, have appeared. It is
stated that steps have been taken for filling up 22 posts of
Probationary Officers, and it will take about four months to fill up
those posts. It appears that there are 95 posts of Probationary
Officers, out of which 69 posts have already been filled up and
thereby 26 posts are lying vacant. An advertisement has been
published today in the newspapers for 22 posts.

In
the circumstances, we direct the respondents, including Principal
Secretary, Social, Justice and Empowerment Department and Secretary,
Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board, to fill up all 26 posts
of Probationary Officers pursuant to the advertisement in question,
and if necessary, may come out with a corrigendum showing the details
of posts which will be filled up. We further direct the respondents
to file an affidavit showing the time schedule for filling up the
posts of Probationary Officers. Appearance of Mr. P.K. Taneja,
Principal Secretary, Social, Justice and Empowerment Department and
Mr. D.B. Shah, Secretary, Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection
Board, is dispensed with.

Post
the matter on 16.03.2010.
