                                 JUDGMENT

Petitioner joined K.A.P. IVth battalion as Police Constable in 1986.

He was promoted as Havildar in October 1988. It is stated that he made a

request for promotion with effect from the date of occurrence of the

vacancy. That claim was rejected by Ext.P2 order. Against the said order, he

filed Ext.P3 appeal before the first respondent. According to him, the appeal

was filed as early as on 16-6-2007 and that orders have not been passed so

far. It is complaining of delay in the disposal of the appeal, this writ petition

is filed.

2. Taking into account the aforesaid grievance and having regard to

the pendency of the appeal, this writ petition is disposed of directing the

first respondent to consider Ext.P3 appeal and pass orders thereon as

expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within three months of the production

of a copy this judgment and with notice to the petitioner.

Petitioner shall produce a copy of this judgment along with a copy

of the writ petition before the first respondent for compliance.
