Prayer in this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., is for

seeking protection to life and liberty of both the petitioners, who claim

themselves to be major and allegedly performed marriage on 8.6.2011

against the wishes of family members (respondent no. 4 to 7) of

petitioner no.2-husband. Having performed marriage against the

wishes of aforesaid respondents, now petitioners apprehend threat to

their life at the hands of said respondents. It is further stated that the

couple as well as respondents 4 to 7 are residents of Village and Post

Office, Charik, Tehsil and District Moga.

After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioners

and keeping in view the directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme

Court in the case of Lata Singh v. State of U.P. And another, JT 2006
(6) SC 173, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to

petitioners to present themselves before SSP Moga, and to make a

detailed representation expressing therein their grievance and threat

perception. In case, any such representation is made, the SSP

concerned shall look into the matter personally and take appropriate

action, if so warranted in accordance with law.

Petition stands disposed of.
