. Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsel
appearing for the State.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the
petitioner’s land situated in village Kairbera, P.S Simdega, Thana no.8 bearing different
plots measuring an area of 4.3 acres was acquired for the public purpose. After the
land was acquired, compensation to the tune of Rs.7,38,143/- was paid whereas
compensation to the tune of Rs.3,48,408/- was paid to Ramchander Gope when only
1 acre of his land had been acquired and therefore, the petitioner had filed an
application under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act for enhancement of the
amount of compensation but no decision has still been taken on that application by
the Land Acquisition Officer,Ranchi, respondent no.4.

Since no decision has been taken on an application filed under
Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, this writ application is disposed of directing the
Land Acquisition Officer, Ranchi, respondent no.4 to take decision within four weeks
from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
