The petitioner – prisoner is on parole and he is to
surrender on 02.01.2009.
The learned counsel for the petitioner-prisoner argues
in favour of the grant of extension of parole period because
petitioner-prisoner is required to be by the side of his ailing wife
and mother.

Notice of motion.
On the asking of the Court, Ms. Manjari Nehru Kaul,
Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the
State.
After hearing the learned counsel for the parties, it is
ordered that the parole period of the petitioner-prisoner shall stand
extended for a period of fifteen days. It will be for the learned
State counsel to communicate the order to the Competent
Authority.
Copy of this order be given to the learned counsel for
the State counsel under the signatures of the Court Secretary.
