Background
1. The Appellant filed an RTI request dt.13.11.07 with the CPIO, BSNL. He
requested for information against 4 points with regard to Mr.A.K.Sinha, ex-
CMD, BSNL. The CPIO replied on 28.12.07 asking the Appellant to pay a fees
of Rs, 524 for the information and provided the information on vide letter
dated 8.1.08. Meanwhile, the Appellant filed an appeal dt. 10.9.08 stating
that he has not received any information even after paying the fees. The
Appellant filed a second appeal dt.11.11.08 before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing on January 27, 2009.
3. Mr. Suresh Kumar, DGM(MIS) & CPIO, Mr. Joginder Singh, AGM(RTI), Mr.
V.K. Jain, AGM and Mr. Bhupinder Singh, SO(Cash) represented the Public
Authority.
4 The Appellant was present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Appellant submitted that one bill against point 3(a) has not been
provided. The Respondents however stated that they are still trying to locate
it and if it goes missing, it would be because of shifting of office premises.
6. With regard to point No. (a) the Commission directs the Respondents to
provide certified copies of Presidential order and other related information
against the missing bill in 3(a) . With regard to point (b) and (c) the
Commission directs the CPIO to provide the information within one month of
receipt of this Order. The CPIO also to allow the Appellant to inspect the files
on 3rd February, 2008 at 11.00 a.m. Certified copies of information from the
files to be provided to the Appellant.
7. The appeal is disposed off.
