Background

1. The RTI application dated 27.3.2010 was filed by the Applicant with the CPIO, Western Railway 

seeking the reasons for not being paid transfer and packaging allowances till date.    He also wanted 

to   know   to   whom   the   cheque   amounting   to   Rs.   10,612/­   had   been   paid.     The   PIO   replied   on 

21.4.2010 providing the address to which the cheque had been sent.   The applicant filed his first 

appeal on 7.3.2010 stating that he is not satisfied with the information.  The First Appellate Authority 

replied on 2.6.2010 once again informing him that the  evidence. Still not satisfied the applicant filed 

his   second   appeal   before   the   Commission   on   2.8.2010   seeking   full   information   regarding   the 

whereabouts of the cheque. 

Decision

2. During the hearing the PIO informed the Commission that the cheque for the said amount had been 

sent inadvertently to the wrong person bearing the same name and that the person had returned the 

cheque   only   the   date   before   the  date  of  hearing.    He  stated  that  he  had  already  informed  the 

applicant that a pay order is being issued and that within 10 days the cheque for the said amount 

would be sent to the appellant. The  appellant was satisfied with the explanation.  

3. The Commission holds that the grievance of the appellant has been redressed and that he is satisfied 

and accordingly disposes off the appeal.
