                                                            ORDER

Background

1. The Applicant filed a RTI Application dt.7.3.11 with the PIO, DJB seeking action taken on his letter 

dt.15.1.11 with regard to the water connections  no. 27013/27014 . On not receiving any reply he filed 

his   first   appeal.     In   response   to his first  appeal  dt.26.4.11(Copy   not   enclosed),  Shri D.Varma, 

Appellate Authority vide his order dt.12.5.11  directed the PIO to supply a copy of the policy of Delhi 

Jal Board and the action taken on the application regarding issue of policy.  Being aggrieved with the 

reply, the Applicant filed a second appeal dt.2.7.11 before CIC.

Decision

2. During  the  hearing,  the  Appellant stated that he had sent a letter dated 15.1 11.   to the Public 

Authority giving a number of suggestions with regard to amendments in the water tariff and that he 

wants to know what action has been taken on the letter.  When queried by the Commission about the 

specific action taken on the Appellant’s letter, the Respondents admitted that no action has been 

taken on the same. The PIO is   accordingly directed   by the Commission to inform this   factual 

position with regard to any action taken on the Appellant’s letter, to the Appellant,  by 23.10.11.

3. The PIO is also directed to showcause as to why a penalty should not be imposed upon him for 

not responding to the RTI application within the stipulated period. The explanation   to reach the 

Commission  by 24.10.11

4. The appeal is disposed of with the above directions.
