Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI request dt.5.8.08 with the CPIO, Publications
Division. He requested for information against 11 points with regard to
various posts in Publications Division alongwith the occurrence of the
vacancies, recruitment rules and names of employees/officials working at
various levels. The CPIO replied on 22.9.08 furnishing point wise information.
Not satisfied with the reply, the Applicant filed his first appeal dt.25.10.08
with the Appellate Authority requesting for the information. On not receiving
any information from the First Appellate Authority, the applicant filed his
second appeal dt.nil before the CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for March 26, 2009.
3. Mr. Akash Laxman, Director, Publications Division & CPIO represented the
Public Authority.
4. The Applicant was not present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Respondent pointed out that the first appeal filed by the Applicant was
not an appeal based on the reply provided by the CPIO but was a list of
questions seeking new information. The Applicant is, therefore, advised to
file a fresh RTI application for seeking such additional information. On
perusal of information provided, the Commission noted that detailed point-
wise information has been provided to the Appellant.
6. The appeal is accordingly disposed off.
