Background
1. The Applicant filed his RTI application on 21.05.09 with the CPIO, Department of
Posts, Nagore requesting for information against 3 points including
correspondence. Note sheets etc. in respect of a letter. The CPIO replied on
19.06.09 stating that the Applicant has not given any details such as the date
and subject of the letter that he has mentioned. He added that without complete
details the information can not be provided. In respect of points 2 & 3 he stated
that it is not clear what information the Applicant is seeking. The Applicant filed
his First appeal on 26.06.09 reiterating his request for the information. The
Appellate Authority replied on 10.07.09 upholding the decisions of the CPIO.
Being aggrieved with this reply, the Applicant filed his Second appeal before the
CIC on 13.07.09.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing on 14 September, 2009.
3. Mr.Brij Bhushan Arya, IPO (PG) represented the Public Authority.
4. The Applicant was not present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Commission noted that no information has been sought against point 2 & 3.
With regards to point 1 the Appellant is advised to provide the details as
suggested in the Appellate Authority in his Order, and the CPIO to provide the
information within 15 days of receiving the details.
