ORDER
Background
1. The RTI Application dated 9.8.2010 was filed by the Applicant with the PIO, North Eastern Railway,
Gorakhpur stating that he had appeared in the office of the Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow
on 4.10.86 as directed in the letter dated 1.10.86 with reference to screening for casual labour,
however he has not yet received any information. He wanted to know the result. The PIO replied on
4.10.2010 informing the Applicant that the information being sought is more than 23 years old and
that the records are not traceable. The Applicant filed his first appeal to which the Appellate
Authority replied once again informing the Applicant that the information is not available. Being
aggrieved with the response the Applicant filed his second appeal dated 26.3.11 before the
Commission.
Decision.
2. It is very clear from the replies of both PIO & Appellate Authority that the records are not available
even after a search. The Commission is therefore not in a position to authorize disclosure of
information.
3. The Appeal is accordingly disposed of and closed and the case closed at the Commission’s end.
