• Action taken on the Appellant’s request regarding the reimbursement of the mentioned bills
• Reason for not releasing the mentioned amount till date inspite of lapse of more than 2.5 years.

Reply of the Public Information Officer (PIO)
Reply enclosed by the PIO is as under – :

1. The Appellant’s medical reimbursement claims in question were examined by Expert Committee in the
meetings held under chairmanship of Addl. DHA (M) in his chamber on 3.1.07 & 28.3.2007.
Member of the scheme “Medical facilities to Pensioners & Family Pensioners” are provided medicines
through allotted medical center. If any medicine is not available in the stock, the same is procured by the
same center & provided to the beneficiaries within reasonable time.
As per approved policy at that relevant time, medicines purchased by the beneficiaries of the scheme were
allowed for reimbursement only under following two conditions: –
> If any, medicine is beyond the purchase power of the allotted center.
> If budget provided to the medical center has exhausted.
No further action was warranted in this case.

3. As there was no delay, no officer/official is responsible.

The PIO has given adequate information but the appellant would like to inspect the relevant
records. The PIO is directed to facilitate an inspection of the relevant records by the appellant on 27
September 2010 from 11.00AM onwards.

Decision:

The Appeal is allowed.

The PIO is directed to facilitate an inspection of the relevant records by the appellant on 27 September
2010 from 11.00AM onwards. He will give attested photocopies of the records which the appellant wants
free of cost upto 100 pages.
