Background

1. The Applicant filed his RTI application on 30.07.09 with the CPIO / AIR, New
Delhi requesting for information against 5 points related to the problem of
water supply, bathing and other facilities for the employees in the office. The
PIO replied on 28.7 09 providing pointwise information. In response to the
appeal to the First Appellate Authority by the Applicant on 07.08.09, the FAA
informed the Applicant that the reply provided by the CPIO is correct. Being
aggrieved with this reply, with reply, the Appellant filed a Complaint before
the CIC on 15.08.09 requesting for the same information and stating that the
information received not satisfactory.

2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner scheduled the
hearing for 11th November, 2009.

3. Ms. Alka Pathak, DDG(I/C) & CPIO, Dr. R.K.Tyagi, Programme Executive &
Deemed PIO and Mr.L.R. Kukrety, U.D.C represented the Public Authority.

4. The Applicant was present during the hearing.

Decision

5. The Appellant stated that in the office of AIR, Todapur, Delhi there are no
water, bathing, toilet, rest room facilities and that he had filed the appeal wit
the objective of bringing this issue to the notice of the concerned
authorities. The Respondent, however, denied that there was any problem in
the office and stated that basic amenities have been provided in the office
(they belonged to the same office) which are functioning well.

6. After observing that the required information has also been provided to the
Applicant, the Commission suggests that the CPIO and Appellate Authority
give the person to the Appellant so that his grievances, if justified , ca be
redressed. The appeal is accordingly disposed off.
