Facts
:
1. Shri K.L. Gupta sought information from the CPIO,
LIC of India, Shahajapur regarding name of the Agent,
Agency Code and address of Agents working under
Shahajapur Branch.
2. The PIO vide his order of 27.10.2009 denied
information citing section 8(1)(d) of the Act against
which the appellant preferred appeal dated 4.11.2009.
3. The FAA vide order of 11.11.2009 also denied
disclosure citing section 8(1)(d) and 8(1)(j) of the
Act.
4. The appellant preferred second appeal against the
above orders before the Commission.
5. The matter was heard today through video
conferencing. Both parties were present as above.
Decision
6. After hearing the averments of both parties the
Commission directs the respondent to provide full and
complete list of their agents along with agency code
numbers to the appellant within one week of receipt of
the order. The Commission is of the view that this
information should have been suo moto uploaded on
the web site of the respondent in the interest of
transparency. Action may be taken as per the
provisions of the Sec. 4(1) of the Act. The residential
addresses of the Agents are not to be disclosed as per
section 8(1)(j) of the Act.
