ORDER
The Commission has received a petition through State Information Commission, Lucknow
of Mrs. Maya Devi, W/o Shri Raghuvir Singh, Durga Nagar, Tirwa, Kannouj, dated 07/10/2008,
stating that his RTI-application of 21/06/2008 filed with the PIO, BSNL, Kannouj, has not been
responded to within the time limit prescribed under the RTI-Act 2005. A copy of his RTI-
application is enclosed.
2. The Commission has decided to treat this petition as a complaint under Section 18 of the
RTI-Act, 2005, and hereby directs the Public Information Officer, to take action as mandated under
the RTI Act 2005.
3. Since the PIO has failed to respond to the RTI-application mentioned above in time, he/she
is, therefore, required to send his/her explanation in writing by 09/06/2010 to show cause as to
why a penalty of Rs.25,000/-for delay in supply of information may not be levied upon him/her.
He/she should also appear before this Commission at the above address on 14/06/2010 at 03:30
pm. alongwith all the relevant files/documents.
4. For this hearing, he/she may bring along with him/her other officials whose assistance has
been sought for replying to the RTI-application.
5. In case the complainant does not receive the desired information, in response to the present
order of the Commission, he may also be present during the hearing to be held on 14/06/2010 at
03:30 pm.
