The Commission has received a complaint dated 20.4.2011 from Mr. Nitesh Kumar
Tripathi u/s 18 of the RTI Act, 2005, against the Ministry of Finance for deemed refusal to
his RTI request dated 11.3.2010 and first appeal dated 5.4.2010.

2. On perusal of the documents it is observed that Complainant has sent his RTI
application to Ministry of Finance, without specifying the name of the Department.

3. The Complainant is informed that Ministry of Finance having different Departments
i.e. Department of Economic Affairs, Department of Revenue, Banking Division and
Department of Expenditure and each Department of the Ministry is having their respective
designated CPIOs/AAs. The Complainant is advised, in case he so wishes file a fresh
RTI application addressed to the Ministry of Finance with specific Department to which the
information is related.

The matter is disposed of on the part of the Commission.
