ORDER
Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI Application dt.24.6.10 with the PIO, DRM Office, Northern Railway,
Firozpur seeking information against 15 points relating to the office of DG/RPF, New Delhi including
the following:
i) Whether there is a unified rule to govern the discipline and appeal in RPF known as Railway
Protection Force Rules, 1987.
ii) Whether there is a provision of suspension of enrolled member of the Force.
The PIO, Ministry of Railways replied on 10.8.10 enclosing the point wise information furnished by
Dr.S.N.Pandey, Director/RPF. However, the Applicant filed a complaint dt.21.10.10 before CIC
stating that he had preferred an appeal dt.26.8.10 addressed to DG/RPF (Appellate Authority – Copy
not enclosed) and that no response has been received. Hence, he is constrained to approach CIC.
Decision
2. The Commission on perusal of the documents on record considers this to be a fit case to be
remanded back to the Appellate Authority to dispose of the same.
3. The Complainant is at liberty to approach the Commission with a second appeal u/s 19(3) of the RTI
Act, if he is aggrieved with the Order of the Appellate Authority.
