Background
1. The Applicant filed his RTI application on 18.12.2009, with the PIO, Northern Railway, New Delhi,
seeking the certified copy of the Service Book of Shri Chothoo along with the certified copies of
Pension papers of the same person. The PIO replied on 27.01.2010 denying the information as it is
personal. On 11.02.2010 the Applicant informed the Respondent that Shri Chothoo S/o Shri Manna
Lal is his father and again requested for the above information once again. On not receiving any
further reply from the PIO, the Applicant filed his Complaint before the Commission on 26.05.2010
requesting for supply of the requisite information in full .
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the hearing for September
23, 2010.
3. Mr. Jagjit Singh, Sr. DMM, Mr. V.K. Kapur, ADFM, Mr. Jagbir Singh, SO, Mr. Sanjay Girdhar,
APO/Bills and Mr. N.N. Kalia, DHSI represented the Public Authority.
4. The Appellant was heard through Audio Conferencing.
Decision
5. In the light of the fact that the information being sought is about the retired father of the Applicant, the
Commission directs the PIO to provide the complete information including the certified copies of
documents as also of file notings . The Applicant was heard over the phone and was informed that
this information will reach him within the next 25 days. The Complaint is accordingly disposed of.
