ORDER
Background
1. The RTI Application dated 19.7.2010 was filed by the Applicant with the PIO, Prasar Bharati,
Broadcasting Corporation of India, PTI Building, Parliament Street, New Delhi seeking the following
information and photocopies of various documents in this connection, including (i)Zone wise expenditure of
funds for all zones ie.East/West/North/South & North east on a/c of the special arrangement made by Prasar
Bharti Cell, New Delhi towards deployment of staff, hiring of Taxis, Tea &Foodstuffs, Air Travel Journey/ Bus
Journey etc on the occasion of 17th March 2010, the date of call of agitation by NFADE for which precautionary
measurement was taken by Deptt to maintain the essential services of media in AIR & DD all over the country
and (ii) Funds released by Prasar Bharati Sectt, New Delhi for all Zones, etc.
Information was sought against 5 points and sub points including photo copies of file noting, orders
etc. PIO replied on 25.8.2010 providing some point wise information. Not satisfied with this reply the
Applicant filed first appeal on 13.10.2010 stating that some information received was incomplete and
some information has not been provided at all. He also stated that photo copies of the documents
have not been forwarded. He then filed second appeal before the Commission.
Decision
2. On perusal of the records and after hearing the Respondents the Commission noted that with regard
to point 1 (e), information sought is not available with the Public Authority as they do not deal with issuance of
Registration certificates , with regard to point 2 (a) the photocopies of Registration Certificates too are not
maintained by the Directorate and hence the same cannot be furnished and as for point 2 (b) that DG: AIR
had categorically stated that no such meeting as mentioned by the Appellant in his RTI Application was held
on 18.11.2009. As for points 5(1) to 5(5) the Respondent submitted that all copies of the documents have
already been provided to the Appellant vide letter dated 21.9.2010. It is clear from the submission of the
Respondents that there is no further information which is required to be authorized for disclosure by the
Commission .
3. The appeal is accordingly disposed of.
