FACTS
:
The matter is called for hearing today dated 20.10.2010. Appellant not
present. The Department is represented by Shri Jagarnath Baitha, Supdt. of Post
Offices, Madhubani.
2. It is noticed that the appellant had MIS Account No. 3964 in Head Post
Office, Madhubani. He had requested the concerned authorities to transfer his
deposit to his Joint Account Number 732304 being maintained in the same Post
Office. The concerned authority, however, issued a cheque of the requisite
amount to the appellant rather then transferring the amount to the joint account,
as requested. It is the grievance of the appellant that the money remained
unutilized at his end, thereby causing him loss of interest for one month.
3. Shri Baitha submits that the requisite amount could not be transferred to
the joint account due to unavailability of appellant’s Pass Book.
4. From the facts and the circumstances the case, it appears to us that the
appellant has ventilated his grievance but has not sought any specific information
under the RTI Act. In our opinion, the matter does not fall in the ambit of the RTI
Act. The appeal is, therefore, dismissed.
5. It is open to the appellant to seek relief from the superior departmental
authorities, if so advised.
