ORDER
Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.28.7.10 with the PIO, DRM Office, West Central Railway,
Jabalpur stating that he along with others had applied for Class IV post in 1999 and that persons
junior to him had been appointed while he has been denied appointment . In this context, he sought
information against three points including a copy of the 1999 panel. Shri S.D.Patidar, PIO replied on
18.8.10 enclosing the information dt.13.8.10 furnished by Shri G.L.Gupta, APIO who stated that no
application has been received from the Appellant for the said post and that no panel had been
prepared in 1999. Not satisfied with the reply, the Applicant filed an appeal dt.4.10.10 with the
Appellate Authority reiterating his request for the information and seeking new information pertaining
to 2003. Shri Amitabh Nigam, Appellate Authority replied on 1.11.10 stating that the Applicant had
been provided the information he had sought, by the PIO. Being aggrieved with the reply, the
Applicant filed a second appeal dt.12.12.10 before CIC.
Decision
2. During the hearing, Shri Amitabh Nigam, Appellate Authority submitted that the Appellant is confused
about the year in which he had applied for the post and is now seeking in his first appeal information
about the 2003 panel whereas in his original RTI Application he had referred to the 1999 panel. This
Appellant on his part confirmed during the hearing that he is now seeking information related to 2003.
3. The Commission hence advises the Appellant to file a fresh RTI application and seek the required
information relating to the year 2003. There is therefore no need for disclosure of any information on
the PIO’s part.
4. The case is closed at the Commission’s end.
