Facts
arising from the Complaint:
Mr. Ranvir Singh Choudhary had filed a RTI application dated 24/11/2009
with the PIO, NCERT, Delhi asking for certain information. The PIO, NCERT has
provided a response to the RTI application vide a letter dated 02/12/2009.However, on
being unsatisfied with the information provided by the PIO, the Complainant has filed a
Complaint with the Commission under Section 18 of the RTI Act on 22/12/2009.On
perusal of the information provided vide PIO’s letter dated 02/12/2009 it has been
observed by the Commission that it is not an appropriate response.
Decision:
The Complaint is allowed.
The PIO will provide the information if available on its record. In case the
information sought is not available the PIO is directed to send a statement on record
stating the same to the Complainant by 05/02/2010.Proof of dispatch of information
should be sent to the Commission by 10/02/2010.
Notice of this decision be given free of cost to the parties.
Any information in compliance with this order will be provided free of cost as per section 7(6) of RTI, Act,
2005.
