Facts
arising from the Complaint:
The Complainant filed a RTI application with the PIO, Symbiosis International University, Pune
on 02/03/2010 asking for certain information. On not having received any information within the
mandated time, the Complainant filed a complaint under Section 18 of the RTI Act with the Commission.
On this basis, the Commission issued a notice to the PIO on 13/01/2011 with a direction to provide the
information to the Complainant and further sought an explanation for not furnishing the information
within the mandated time.
The Commission received a letter dated 17/06/2011 from the Respondent wherein it has been
stated that information has been provided to the Complainant on 10/05/2010. Further stating that
information sought had to be compiled from different places which took time. Further, vide a letter dated
04/02/2011 the PIO has stated a chain of events to the Complainant as an explanation for the delay caused
in replying to the RTI Application. On perusal of the several documents enclosed therewith it has been
observed that vide a letter dated 13/04/2010 the Complainant was informed that information would be
sent to him shortly. Furthermore, vide letters dated 10/05/2011 and 31/05/2011 information has been
provided to the Complainant.
Decision:
The Complaint is disposed off.
Notice of this decision be given free of cost to the parties.
