Factsarising from the Complaint:
The Complainant had filed a RTI application dated 17/02/2011 with the Respondent SPIO,
asking for certain information. However, on not having received the information within the mandated
time, the Complainant filed a complaint under Section 18 of the RTI Act before this Commission. On
this basis, the Commission issued a notice to the Respondent SPIO on 02/05/2011 with a direction to
provide the information to the Complainant and further sought an explanation for not furnishing the
information within the mandated time.
The Commission is in receipt of the submissions of the Respondent vide letter dated 23/05/2011
wherein it has been stated that the RTI application was received in his office on 22/02/2011. Further it
has been stated that the Auto Rickshaw Branch being the custodian of requisite information provided it
to the Respondent on 16/03/2011 and subsequently the information was sent to the Complainant on the
same day i.e. 16/03/2011. It is also stated that in compliance with the Commission’s notice the
Complainant has been again provided with the information vide letter dated 12/05/2011.
Decision:
The Complaint is disposed off.
Notice of this decision be given free of cost to the parties.
