Background
1. The Appellant filed his RTI application dt.28.4.08 with the CPIO, DG:
Doordarshan. The Appellant wanted information against 12 points.
The CPIO, DG: Doordarshan replied on 29.5.08 providing point wise
information. The Appellant filed his first appeal dt.27.6.08 with the
Appellate Authority. The CPIO, Prasar Bharati provided some
information with regard to Paras 1 to 5. The Appellant filed his second
appeal dt.24.9.08 with the CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner,
scheduled the hearing on January 12, 2009.
3. Mr Sanjiv Verma, Dy. Director (A) & CPIO represented the Public
Authority.
4. The Appellant was present at the hearing.
Decision
5. With regard to point No.2, the Appellant submitted that information
provided was false since the Respondents stated that the post of
Production Asstt. was not vacant in 1992 although there is evidence
that 6 posts of Production Asstt. were vacant in 1992. He also stated
that he has not received any information against points 1,2,4 and 5 of
the RTI application.
6. The Commission directs the CPIO, DDK, Delhi to provide information
against Points.1, 2,4 and 5 of the RTI application, keeping in view the
Appellant’s submission with regard to available vacancies in 1992.
7. The Commission also directs the CPIO, Prasar Bharti and CPIO, DDK,
Delhi to allow inspection of files by the Appellant and to provide him
with certified copies of selected information within 15 days of receipt
of this Order.
8. The appeal is disposed off.
