Background

1. The Applicant filed his RTI application  dt.16.1.09 with the PIO, West Central Railway, 

Jabalpur seeking information with regard to one Shri Abhay Jadhav who was promoted 

from   1.11.03   .   He   wanted     the   date   of   promotion   and     the   cadre   to   which   he   was 

promoted. Shri S.P.Singh, PIO replied on 28.1.09. The Applicant filed an appeal dt.4.2.09 

with the Appellate Authority stating that information provided is incorrect. Shri R.S.Punia, 

Appellate Authority replied on 7.5.09 providing further clarification.

2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the hearing 

for April 9, 2010.  

3. Shri S.P.Singh, PIO was heard through audio conferencing.

4. The Applicant was present during the hearing.

Decision

5. The Appellant submitted that the Railway Board vide its RBE No.171/2003 dt.29.9.03 had 

stated that the last date for closure of cadre in their HQ office is 31.10.03 and in this 

connection he is seeking information about Shri Abhay Jadhav as to the date when he 

joined the cadre and the post.  Shri S.P.Singh who was heard through audio submitted 

that the letter quoted by the Appellant has been superseded.

6. The Commission on review of the submissions directs the PIO to provide clarification with 

regard to the points raised by the Appellant during the hearing. The information to reach 

the   Appellant   by   9.5.10   and   the   Appellant   to   submit   a   compliance   report   to   the 

Commission by 16.5.10

7. The appeal is accordingly disposed of.
