1. The appeal was scheduled for hearing on 23/4/2010. While the appellant
was present in person, the CPIO was heard through audio conferencing.

Compact Society of which the Senior officials of the respondent are the Office-
bearers, have not furnished the information relating to the activities of the
Society.

3. The appellant has stated that neither the officials of the Society have
replied to the RTI application nor the CPIO and the Appellate Authority of the
respondent have made sincere attempts to provide the information. He also
alleged that the officials of the respondents have adopted an evasive approach to
deal with the disclosure of information relating to the Society, which has been
formed and managed by the major PSUs, including the respondent.

4. The CPIO agreed to review his decision and pleaded for remanding back
the appeal to him. He assured that complete information, as per available
records, would be furnished to the appellant.

Decision:

5. The evidence of record shows that the appellant has approached both the
office-bearers of the Society as well as the CPIO of the respondent for
information. Unfortunately, the RTI application has not been properly examined
by the concerned official. And, an evasive approach has been adopted for denial
of information.
