Background
1. The Appellant filed his RTI application dt.24.9.08 with the CPIO, All
India Radio, Chennai. He wanted information related to the
discrepancy between the AIR Manual and the Counter Affidavit
14474/98 filed in the High Court of Madras by the then Station
Director of CBS, AIR, Chennai. The CPIO replied on 17.10.08. Not
satisfied with the reply, the Appellant filed a complaint dt.9.11.08
before the CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner,
scheduled the hearing on January 16, 2009.
3. Mr. G. Jayalal, DDG & Appellate Authority represented the Public
Authority.
4. The Appellant was present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Commission noted that the CPIO was not present at the hearing,
However, the Appellate Authority was present and the matter was
discussed with him. The Appellate Authority stated that while he is
aware of the RTI request, he does not have a copy of it but will get in
touch with the CPIO and provide the missing information to the
Appellant. The Commission directs the Appellate Authority to provide
this information within one month of the receipt of this Order.
6. The appeal is disposed off.
