FACTS

:

The appellant is an employee of the bank. By an RTI application dated
10.1.2008, she sought for various information in seven serials. By a communication
dated 23.1.2008, the CPIO furnished information serial-wise. Aggrieved with the
information furnished, she filed an appeal before the AA who rejected the appeal by
upholding the decision of the CPIO. Hence the present appeal. The detailed comments,
a copy of which has been given to the appellant, is on record. The appellant has filed
her rejoinder also.

DECISION:

I have perused the RTI application, the information furnished by the CPIO, the
decision of the AA, the grounds of appeal, comments and the rejoinder. The grievance
of the appellant is that while the bank has not filed any suit for recovery of loans granted
to other suspended employees and had also not withdrawn the concessional rate of
interest from such employees, in her case, it had filed a suit and has also charged
higher penal interest. Her further grievance is that the bank has not produced any
circular or instructions for charging penal interest. The bank has explained its position in
respect of all these allegations. Under the RTI Act, this Commission can only direct
disclosure of information and cannot deal with such allegations. The appellant is free to
approach the Banking Ombudsman in regard to her grievance, if she so desires. The
appeal is disposed of in the above terms.

Let a copy of this decision be sent to the appellant and CPIO.
