Title: Need for proper maintenance of National Highway No. 44 between Suprakandi and Patharkandi, Assam – Laid.
(KARIMGANJ) : Due to the wrong earth works done by B.R.T.F. on both the sides of National Highway – 44 from Suprakandi to Patharkandi of Karimganj Parliamentary Constituency, Assam two years back, the road communication has been disrupted particularly in rainy season. National Highway No. 44 is the life line of the people of Karimganj District and the entire people of Tripura State. Due to disruption of road transport of N.H. – 44, the people of Tripura State and also the people of Karimganj District have been facing more trouble for transportation of essential commodities and goods. The people of Karimganj District have been staging agitations continuously against the B.R.T.F. activities and requesting for improvement of the road but the B.R.T.F. is not doing anything to improve the condition of the road.
I request the Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways to take immediate steps to improve the condition of this road quickly and solve the sufferings of the people of Karimganj District as well as the people of the State of Tripura.
