Title : Need to accept the proposal of the State Government of Himachal Pradesh for equity participation in Hydro Projects.
SHRIMATI PRATIBHA SINGH (MANDI): I would like to draw the kind attention of this August House regarding equity participation of Himachal Pradesh Government in Hydro Projects, in Himachal Pradesh. Equity participation of Himachal Pradesh in the 2051-MW Parbati Hydro Electric Project being executed by the N. H. P.C. and the 800 MW Koldam Project being executed by the N.T.P.C.
With this the Government and People will get maximum benefits in lieu of the long term use of the natural wealth available in the state. Our state Government is committed to exploit the entire identified hide potential in the state so that power could be supplied to the neighbouring states and at the same time to the Central Government should safeguard the interest of the state and its people.
I request the Prime Minister and the Power Minister that the demand of the Himachal Pradesh State Government regarding equity participation in Hydro Projects should be met.
