Title: Need to include Vadabaliaya, Jalari, Kandra Palli communities of South India in the list of Scheduled Tribes Category – Laid.
SHRI KINJARAPU YERRANNAIDU (SRIKAKULAM): I would like to bring to your kind notice the issue regarding inclusion of fishermen community in S.T. Category. Many communities called Vadabalija, Jalari, Kandra, Palli are hunting the fishes in the sea, tanks and other water bodies for their livelihood. These communities are very backward educationally & economically. In this connection, I have written many letters to the Government of India. Sir, I request the Government of India to intervene in this matter and consider the above and take necessary steps to do justice to all the fishermen communities by including them in the list of S.T. Category.
