(CHIDAMDARAM) : Neyveli Lignite Corporation is a profit making PSU in my constituency Chidamdaram which has earned Rs.1,200 cores profit last year. NLC had come up because of lands given by thousands of people who were promised jobs, compensation and better facilities in that area.
They need their wards be employed, due compensation paid and drinking water and water for irrigation supplied. None of these happened till date satisfactorily. People are agitated over the issue.
I would like to urge upon the Government to issue orders to NLC to employ the sons and daughters of the land losers, to provide water for irrigation and drinking and to pay adequate compensation immediately, lest people of the area will be compelled to do agitation for the redressal of their grievances.
