Title : Need to provide and expedite the proposed work of railway line connecting Mt. Pooramallee to Renigunta and Periapalyam to Egmore Port in Tamil Nadu.
SHRI A. KRISHNASWAMY (SRIPERAMBUDUR): In Sriperumbudur constituency, there is proposal to connect railway lines from Mount, Pooramallee to Sriperumbudur and Renigunta, Periapalayam to Egmore Port, Athur Pet. For the above said schemes survey had been completed by the Railways but work has yet to start. The suburban area is fastly growing in Tamil Nadu which makes lot of traffic congestion causing inconvenience to the public and freight carriers. I, therefore, request the Railways and Shipping Ministry to allocate funds on priority and to expedite the proposed scheme.
