Title: Need to reduce the air fares from Kerala to Gulf countries.
(QUILON): Sir, I would like to call the attention of the Government to a very important matter. The Kerala Legislative Assembly has unanimously resolved to request the Central Government and Civil Aviation authority to reduce the higher rates of air travels â to and fro — to Gulf countries from Kerala. As compared to charges of other national and international flights, the airfare of this route is quite exorbitant and unjust. This unscrupulous activity resorted to by the airlines operating in Gulf sector has been criticised by NRIs living in the Gulf countries. They have appealed to the Central Government and the concerned authorities but it has all gone in vain.
Sir, through you, I would like to urge upon the Central Government and the Civil Aviation authorities to consider the request of the NRIs as well the unanimous resolution of the Kerala Legislative Assembly to reduce the exorbitant rates and also to allow the international flights to land in our airports according to the terms and conditions as stipulated by the Government of India.
