        Petition under Article 226  of  the  Constitution  of  India  for  the
issuance  of  a  Writ  of  Habeas  Corpus to call for the records of the first
respondent, Joint Secretary to  Government  of  India,  Ministry  of  Finance,
Department   of  Revenue,  New  Delhi  relating  to  the  detention  order  in
F.No.673/25/2003-CUS.VIII dated 30.09.2003  issued  under  the  provisions  of
Section  3(1)  of  the  Conservation  of  Foreign  Exchange  and Prevention of
Smuggling Activities Act, 1974, quash the same and direct the  respondents  to
produce the  body  of  the  person  of  the  detenu M.  Karthikeyan, presently
undergoing detention in Central Prison, Chennai and set him at liberty.

Mr.S.Palanikumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner reports
that the detention order has been revoked by the Government on the opinion of
the Advisory Board.

2. The above statement is hereby recorded. Accordingly, no further
adjudication is required in this Habeas Corpus Petition and the same is
closed.
