	Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to select and appoint the petitioner as Sub - Inspector of Police inpursuance of his participation in the selection of Sub Inpsector of Police under the Direct 
recruitment quota of men for the year 1997 -1998.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents had pointed out that a number of writ petitions, with similar prayers, have already been dismissed by this Court, on the ground of ‘Latches’. It has been stated that such orders have been passed by this Court, in W.P.Nos.2711, 30774 to 30776, 11850, 13932, 14954, 14955, 16482 to 16487 of 2005 and in other similar writ petitions. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed on the ground of ‘Latches’. No costs.
