Prayer:This Writ Petition has been filed, seeking for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to enquire into the allegations and financial irregularities committed by the Vice Chancellor of University of Madras by referring the same to the Central Bureau of Investigation for detailed enquiry, by considering the representation dated 22.09.2005.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

2.At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents had pointed out that a number of Writ Petitions, with similar prayers, have already been dismissed by this Court, on the ground of ‘Laches’. It has been stated that such Orders have been passed by this Court, in W.P.Nos.2711, 30774 to 30776, 11850, 13932, 14954, 14955, 16482 to 16487 of 2005 and in other similar Writ Petitions.
Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed on the ground of ‘Laches’. No costs.
